look! play! out! 💃
I originally wanted to live in the Snow Country for a long time, so what good works were I looking forward to?
That's when I met Tanaka Min-Yuki no Ryohen

The dancer Mr. Tanaka is 78 years old and performs solo solo. He is wearing a plain gray-blue monk's robe, lined with only white plain clothes and a worn-out straw mat outside his foot pockets. He walks on the snow from the side of the snow-capped mountain hill. come out.

Ryohiro was a monk, calligrapher, and poet who lived in Echigo Province (now Niigata Prefecture). He was full of childlike innocence and curious about everything in nature. His poems were very simple and simple. His poetry and Chinese poetry had a lot of influence on Europe, America and Japan. Big impact.

Tanaka Min interprets Liang Huan, he walks on the snow, he grabs the snow and looks to the sky, runs on the snow wearing straw sandals, curls up and lies on the snow, rolling... He drags away the simple baggage and straw sandals on his body, and follows The wind and snow were swaying, and he looked at the sky with curious and grateful eyes from time to time. Finally, he dragged off the monk's robes, leaving only a white robe.

When Mr. Tanaka began to become the wind and snow, the first note of the accompanying piano was immediately recognized as Ludovico Einaudi - Einaudi: Nuvole Bianche.
In addition to Mr. Tanaka's accompaniment, there are also taiko drummers and musicians. When the musicians played the bells, it felt like rain and snow. The sound of flutes and drums slowly brought to the climax. Mr. Tanaka came to the audience dressed in white. , inviting the children to dance with him, everyone raised their hands around him and swayed together, just like Liang Huan, innocently watching everyone dance happily... Until the end, dancer Tanaka Min Surrounded by everyone, he bowed deeply.

"Snow Ryohime" is a winter art work produced in conjunction with the Tokamachi Echigo-Tsumari Earth Art Festival. The venue is on an outdoor hill and must be accessed through a shuttle bus provided by the organizer or a bus combined with a sightseeing tour. Before watching the show, there were amazake and warm packs available for you to take. There was no specific seat, and you were given a cushion to sit on the snow and watch. Some people even watched while standing!

The ticket I purchased is to watch the performance + a redemption voucher for the Echigo-Tsumari 2024 Daichi Art Festival, which starts in July.
